UNCG | Maud Gatewood Studio Arts Center

The Gatewood building houses the School of Art and Interior Architecture Department.

Space to Explore Creative Passions

As part of the HSMM design team, Mr. Dooley's role in this $17.6 million facility was to ensure this
state-of-the-art space was designed and ready to open for in-coming art students.

As the architect in charge of Construction Administration, Keith managed the State Construction meetings, responded to RFIs, issued bulletin drawings, performed the punch list, and managed the project close-out with the NC Office of State Construction.

The Maud Gatewood Studio Arts Center in an environment designed for students to thrive while pursuing their passion for creativity and the visual arts. The Studio Arts Center has studio spaces equipped for many Studio Art BFA programs including painting, photography, animation, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, new media & design, and ceramics. The building provides the required spaces and equipment to support these programs, including a dark room, a ceramics kiln, and a foundry with beam crane for producing cast metal sculptures.
