An arena full of opportunity
Designed to offer students the chance to engage in gaming competition both in-person and in-game, the 3,300 square foot gaming arena provides more than just a place to play video games, it's a state-of-the-art educational opportunity.
The arena provides UNCG students with a cutting edge learning environment in the field of gaming. From event planning to broadcast production, and as a part of the UNCG Bryan School of Business and Economics, students not only have a space to express their creativity and create community with fellow gamers on campus, it is also a part of UNCG's rigorous Business Management program.
Designing an innovative space comes with thought-provoking challenges which often lead to creative solutions. As the Architect of Record, VisArch led the charge when it came to overall design of the space, and collaborated with our partners at UNCG and Horizon AVL on inventive ways to make accommodations for the various building control systems within an historic structure, preserving the original character while modernizing the space for the gaming generation.
